Making Business Decisions

What makes business people different ?

Choices.

Life is so full of them these days - especially in business.

If you've been in business for any length of time, you'll know how many

decisions you have to make!

Every day.

You're working for yourself because you can make decisions - and lots of them.

Most ordinary people freeze, making business decisions.

You know you don't make right decisions all the time, but you do make up your mind - congratulations!

It is better to go on making lots of decisions, knowing some of them will be wrong, than not make decisions at all. Right?

Right.

OK. Lets say you make 57 decisions today, and on a good day 90% of them are good decisions. They result in higher profits, and lower costs.

That's a good average, but check out this quote:

"Take a peek around your office, who’s got bags under their eyes?

A recent poll revealed that lack of sleep is the biggest health concern for 42% of the population, with another 34% experiencing low-level general fatigue."

As you can see, lack of sleep and low level general fatigue, are affecting many of us.

But you are in business, you can't afford to get tired.

Why not?

As a business owner, you make most (if not all) of those important decisions every day.

What if you are having a down day, today.

Were you up half the night last night, getting your invoicing up to date, or doing your BAS or designing ad campaigns?

* What if today you have to make 57 decisions, and only 60% of them are good and profitable.

You have a greater chance of making business decisions that end up costing you a fortune!

* That'd hurt wouldn't it?

It may even set you back 12 months in your business.

All because you were tired, today.

Does your life/work balance look like it might be costing you dearly?

Why wouldn't a chance to fix this problem, be attractive for you?

In our 4 session 'Target Practice' Life Goals programme, we give you permission to 'unplug' from your business for 2 hours.

Take time to look at every part of your life (especially those parts you'd forgotten are important to you).

And begin to set goals, real goals, in those parts of your life.

Not goals in every other part, but in a couple that are important to you. It works.

Don't take my word for it . . .

"When Paul and I began his 'Target Practice' programme, I seriously thought we'd be mainly discussing marketing ideas.

When we began discussing the other parts of my life, I couldn't see how this was going to help my business.

I was skeptical.

In the beginning, I was uncertain about setting goals in areas like my physical development, and family life - areas I'd neglected for a while.

Now, I feel more connected to my wife and have even begun to feel fit again (something I haven't been for years).

My business has somehow benefitted in the process, even though I don't understand how.

If anyone was looking at Paul's programme, be prepared for an emotional journey. But one that is worthwhile.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Hi Paul,

I just wanted to say that I’m usually busy in my business and my inbox gets lots of ‘newsletters’ from people. I don’t have time to read them – I usually delete them.

But your reports are different. I was sceptical at first, but they put a smile on my face (we must have a similar sense of humour). I find myself stopping to read them, for two reasons:

1. You add a ‘human’ face to your reports; I identify with the stories you tell, to make your point, and 2. They always contain useful hints and tips I can use in my business.

I appreciate your generosity with your ideas.
